Not the cost involved. I just was curious what was out there besides Whipple. It is kind of the standard of the industry right now, but it doesn't hurt to do a little research. I realize the cost to build and research technology to do something right and I think whipple does it right. Just asking, probably the way I will go when the time and money is right. Thanks for your response.

No problem with Pro-Charger, I just like the looks of a blower on top of the motor.

Geritt, Remember that was a whippled engine that blew up on us on the way to the casino that day. It has blown twice all ready and was installed by a reputable guy.

Your boat is awesome all ready, and runs pretty fast. Why not leave it alone and get a good season or 2 out of it first. Maybe a couple of good casino runs.

Jeff, I am going to run this season the way it is. Runs even better with the new props. Never can have too much HP. After the casino trip from hell and associated repair costs, 6K, I may just leave it alone. I would like more HP and it was suggested that part of the reversion problems with the 525 efis is do to the high cam lope. It has been suggested that whipples may help solve that problem. Increase idle speed, pressure, and prevent reversion. Kill 2 birds, more HP and less reversion problems. Plus they do look great.

540's with 8-71's and superchillers will quit that problem also, and nothing looks better than those.

We'll see you gus at the run in May if not before then.

By the way, Lefty is still crying about the $2 worth of header bolts that were taken from his boat.

If you could please get him a check in the mail, so we can stop hearing about it, That would be great.

Right, going back to 1950 always solves the problem. 871, are you kidding me? Height, idle, fuel economy, knock protection... 525hp efi motor is a great motor, no need to go to carbs if you ALREADY have EFI.

Thanks

like to know about bird catcher set up pros and cons over carbs on top of W305R superchargers , making 900-1000 hp

Howard
Yes, that was back with the original mfg. Lysholm decided they would rather be sued by us then Ford Motor Company, actual quote. Since they couldn't supply their first OEM company and our high qty.

We got our own now, so it's all good.

With a bird catcher, how would run the fuel system, electronic fuel injection or mechanical? That would be one of the real issues, also, drive-ability is not quite as good, quite a bit of air at small throttle openings. Carbs typically offer better drivability.

With the whipples for the 525efi do you need to build the bottom ends up "62hrs" on them or just do the kit?
