Has anyone installed a sternjack on a 22 Scarab? What gains in mph did you get and was handling any better?

It should be worth 2-3 mph. I think it would ride a little better too. Basing this on my 27' Boat.

Interesting thread. Here's my rookie questions; is it worth fitting? What, appart from space between prop and transom is the diff between this vs a shorty drive? Which would be better first off? Does anyone have any pics of a simple single setup with a sternjack that I can reference?
Is it basically a drive extension box to move rear and raise the drive?
Man I'm behind on this stuff!

It moves it rear, but I don't think it raises it at all.

I think the basic idea is the drive gets more leverage. more leverage = less boat in the water = more speed.

As you trim up it also brings the prop closer to the surface.

I found this picture on ebay of a stern jack with a standard Alpha. Not an SS Shortie.
