Bravo nose cones
How important are these things over 90 mph. I'm running xr's over 90-93mph now but I know there is more to be had. I'm running 32 Bravos with 20% slip so it's a work in progress. I've been told the nose cones may bring the slip down and that I should do them before I change props.

I gained 5 mph from 86 to 91 with Teague Leading Edge Nose cones. Call Teague for more info. Cones work at the speeds your talking about.
Stock 500HPs with 28" B1 props nonlabbed: 5250 rpm at 81 mph or 10% slip.
Beefed up the motors to 600HPs with labbed 30" B1: 5550 rpm at 86 mph or 16% slip.
Tried 1" drive spacers did not help speed.
Added nose cones with same motors, same 30" lab finished props: 5450 rpm at 91 mph or 9.5% slip.
Cones saved my project.
Call me and we'll get into a cult like trance and talk cones.

I was running 80 with stock Bravos and recently upgraded to XR uppers and IMCO 1" short lowers. I wonder if I will pick up that much speed with the new IMCO nose cone ??

When my boat had less hp and ran a tenth or 2 under 90 mph it would drop to mid 80's going from my drive with a real well blended hydromotive nosecone to my spare dual water pickup drive with no nose cone. My slip numbers never changed measurebly,Smitty

I'm making the switch to IMCO lowers, to make my X-dimension more aggressive - it's conservative right now... and for the improved bullet. I ran about 85mph at 18-20% slip last summer and am also looking to bring the slip down.
I'm curious, IMCO's lowers don't have a knife edge right out of the casting, they have a blunt edge out of the box. Hydrodynamically speaking, I'm wondering if I should make it into a knife edge or more of a gradual bullet.
Tom - what shape is the leading edge of your nose cones? I can't quite make it out in the pictures.
Thanks!
Jeff
