any ideas on what it might be.
6.2 procharcharger on 2002 baja 232. it ran perfect all last season. changed oil and fuel seperator last week for this year. took it out last saturday for first run on river. it ran a little rough at first but cleaned out. ran about 10 miles down river and hung out at island for a couple of hours.
fired boat up to head back and would hardley get on plain. was cutting out very bad.

Check the basics. Most likely the plugs are fouled now, if they weren't to start with and will need changed. Then check cap and rotor for deposits. Most likely just some corrosion from stitting all winter.

How old is the fuel? It could easily fouled the plugs if there was enough old gas in the tanks from last year.
I left some gas in my power-washer for about 6 or 7 months. It won't even start now. I have to drain it and clean the carb. PITA. The fuel now-a-days just sucks.
Darrell.

there was probably 10 gallons left in it from last october. and it has been a very wet winter.
I put some heat in the tank to hopefully take care of that problem late last night and will change the plugs today. also will check cap.
thanks for the input.

Heet won't do any good. Its just alcohol. It might dissipate any water in the fuel, but the water will still get caught in the water sep/fuel filter. Pull you water sep/fuel filter and dump it into a clear glass. wiat 10 mins and look for separation. The water will be on the bottom.

I changed plugs and seperator again and going to go fire it up in a few minutes to see if any change.
is there any other way than draining the tank to clean the fuel up?

The only time I had water in my fuel was after a winter layup. It ran fine on the hose. When I took it out on the water, I had to take the filter off 3 times and dump the water out. It does take some cranking to refill the filter with fuel.

just ran engine for about 2 minutes. still runs rough![Angry Smiley 038](/forums/images/smilies/angry-smiley-038.gif)
going down to the lake right now to idle around for a while. I will also pick up another filter to change out after it has run.
