Smart Craft System View 5000 to VesselView conversion
Does anyone know if when switching from System view to vesselview is it a direct plug in replacement? The cut out is different I know but the two big connectors look the same. Would it just plug in and work Or do I need to change harnesses?
The wiring harnesses are different between the two. The basic set up for a twin engine setup is different for each system as the vessel view uses different connections and more junction boxes but they both terminate to the CAN junction box.
Anyone have experience?

OK I got a e-mail from mercury marine saying the harness needs to be changed to the new style but they say the Vessel View has not been "Validated" with that engine (525EFI) He said I could try it and see though.
Any Idea what "validated" means? I dont think I will mess my engines up as the sc5000 and the vessel view are display items. They do show online a VesselView Race edition for the 525EFI.
Figures I just cut my dash panel today before I got the e-mail...

FYI I think I have it figured out, I got a e-mail from Mercury Racing today:
1)You have to use the harness that comes with the VesselView. this will replace the one installed with the SC5000
2) The VesselView and the VesselView Race Edition will both work on the 525's
3) For Twin Engines you have to have a 4 port (minimum) Junction Box for each motor and a dual engine ignition harness.
