496HO - Ran her Dry
So I think the impeller went and the engine ran without the water circulating through and out the closed cooling system. Engine temp. never got even close to operating temperature, but an alarm went off and I shut her down. I did smell some burning rubber and a hose on the left of the engine, toward the bottom, is now a light shade of brown and looking a bit crinkled. Question is: Are there any other parts of the exhaust that might have been adversely affected? I run Corsa Q and Q. Thanks alot in advance for any help.

They rubber on the down tube is the last rubber. It is possible it melted the jacket on your shift cable to the drive if it was in contact with down tubes. If your shift tension increases thats why. If you can reach to inspect you can satisfy your curiosity. The engine temp won't go up right away cause of the closed loop. When you change the impeller make sure you account for all the pieces.
I'm not sure what the flappers in the down tubes are made of with yours but, you can inspect their condition when you change the hose.
