Question Heads.

HI, HAVE ANYONE HAD ANY EXPERIENCE WITH CANFIELD CYLINDER HEADS. I AM THINKING ABOUT BUYING SOME OF THEIR 350CC TO PUT ON MY 580CI. THE REASON WHY I AM THINKING ON CHOOSING THE 350CC BECAUSE I AM GOING TO SUPERCHARGE THE MOTORS EVENTUALLY. DO U THINK THIS IS A WISE DECISION OR WHAT DO U RECOMMEND. THANKS.

Canfield makes a very good head for the money, I know alot of engine builders who use them. You may also want to check out Brodix, & Dart.

You may want to check in with JimV at Valako Race Heads. I believe he's had the opportunity to work with the Canfield heads, as well as Dart, Merlin, and Brodix. 616-735-0800.

I bought two sets of Canfields last spring 310 runners, 113 domes, I put them on some 496's roller cam, brodix intake, to date no problems. As is turns out the Canfield rep lives about 15 miles from my house. A guy names Jay. Very helpful... I've talked to Jim V about some work on my heads, he didn't mention he had done any yet. He said he wanted to see some flow #'s out of the box on these. My boat weighs 10,000 lbs. its got some slow TRS drives and I still managed mid 70's I guess not bad for an old tug....

I run fully ported Dart 360's on my natural 632. These heads flow 430 @.800 lift and 422 @.700. You might look into the 345 Dart "Pro-1" as well. I've had no problems with the 360's..good power and torque.
