Default Lenco trim tabs

I'm looking to upgrade from my 12 x 12 insta-trim tabs to something a bit more substantial, and was wondering if anyone has run the new Lenco "high performance" tabs...

Thanks,

Doug

Default tabs

My buddy has those tabs on his boat right now, he really likes them and hasnt had no trouble that im aware of.. The polish doesnt hold up as well as i would like, but we boat in salt water which may be part of it, it might be worth it to powder coat them?

I have thought about getting rid of my bennetts for those just not sure how much work it would be?

I used that same Lenco model to replace the smallish bennetts that came as original equipment on my previous formula 312. They worked just fine and proved to be a worthwhile upgrade. The installation was not difficult as the components are "plug and play". I purchased mine by phone/mail from a Lenco dealer in Florida....barryd

how has the electric motors held up under water? has there been many problems with that?
I've never installed a set on a customers boat, but if they are as dependable as bennett or boat levelers, I would try a set.

I had zero difficulties with them. The electrics are completely sealed and waterproof. I routed the one control wire through an existing Bennett mounting hole. The tab mounting bracket also lined up with the Bennett mounting holes. I did not have to drill any fresh holes.

Thanks for the replies..

My biggest concern now is if my steering cylinders are going to be in the way....

I had similar thoughts....moving from a 12" bennett to a 25" Lenco. If you turn the wheel hard over either direction, you will bump the drives against the tabs. I remedied that fact by not letting anyone else steer the boat. I had to make a mental note to myself to never turn the drives to far over. For manuevering purposes, I always remembered "drives straight, work the shifters". After I installed the tabs, I even bolted anodes to the mounting rails---very clean.

I also did not buy the LED switch/indacator from them,I reused my original rocker switches and added mechanical indicators.
Stainless Marine makes a kit to fit Lenco tabs
