It's been years. The only reason someone would want a dry sump is if they're running a full-on race motor at high RPM's. The only engines you see them on are cost no object engines. If you're trying to get 1300 HP out of a 600" enhgine or turning 7800 RPM in a 540, you need one. If you're running 540's with blowers, it's a very expensive waste of money.
On particulars, a good 3-stage will do the job. The pan is more important than the pump. You can accomplish 80% of what a dry-sump will do with a really good pan and internal blueprinting that speeds oil return from the engine down to the pan.
