Default Optima Battery and Boxes

If you have thought about using these I highly recommend it. I bought two of the special made boxes from Eddie Marine (Red) and the blue top marine batts from Optima what a great looking combo. They match my HP500's (red and blue) the machining and anodizing is perfect. Total cost was around 500 and worth it.
The reason I brought this up some of us had or have the plastic Gill boxes that end up breaking if you don't watch them. This was my solution to the problem!

I had the same problem. Mine lasted 3 years and then went through 2 sets in 2 weeks. When I was pulling that batteries I noticed the platform was loose. The batteries were bouncing around breaking the boxes, one of the reason mine is at PQ now. You cant tell by looking but they pulled away from the hull side.

My shelf also pulled away from the hull side. This was fixed under warranty. My old plastic boxes also came loose from the shelf they should of been through bolted and the new ones will be with nylock nuts and lock-tite. Scott

I bought the same thing one year ago. Great looking stuff. I like that fact that the batteries will NEVER leak. I saw a video about the batteries and they drilled hole into the case and NOTHING came out. # 1 in my book.

You might want to thru bolt your hot water tank while your at it. Mine came loose, it had only 1/2 in. screws holding it.
