Good info, thanks Ian!

Does Amsoil (Donaldson?) have a direct HP-6 Fram replacement filter? Used Amsoil filters on my truck. Great filter.

I was directed by an HP motor tech to take a look at System One. When looking over this thread, found this:
http://www.gopurepower.com/store/ite...em&itemKey=730

I wrote them for the spec on the oil bypass valve rating. I report back to guys on this one. Great flow and filter specs.
Price is another story.

Interesting. Most racing filters (that have a bypass valve) show an average spec of 20 lbs. The GM "optional" bypass valve is set a 30 lbs. My concern with your oiling set-up (with no bypass circuit) is there any down side to not having a bypass?

Been running the K&N Performance Gold HP 6002 which is also a 2 qt. filter the last couple years with no problems. I also run a high volume pump and have the block by pass plugged. 100% of the oil goes through the filter. They filter down to 10 microns and have a max burst pressure of 550psi.

The Nappa Gold 1794/Wix 51794 filters down to 21 micron and have a max burst pressure of 270psi.
