600 sci motors with no top end
anybody having issues with motor running out of steam up top , its not with propping ( Ive tried 8 props ) , starting to here that they have been having problems with this motor ( i own one) also hearing merc might discontinue the 600 sci
I have buddies with 525s in same type of boat that can turn 500 more rpms 5-6 mph faster with same prop as we have tested side by side .

Have you checked for codes, to you have vessel view? Buzzer should go off if there is a code. If there are none, then you have to assume that fuel psi, water psi, cam and crank sensors are ok, because Mercury has the settings very tight. Depending on hours, it wouldn't hurt to replace the stock spark plugs, just replace the current ones.
If that does nothing, then check fuel psi and start that process. Did the boat run better at one time, or has it never run as good as your friends with 525hp efi?
