weiand blower pulley
putting on my weiand 177 blower and cannot seem to find a lower crank pulley that will work, this is a marine kit for a mrec, thru 1995, with a steel factory pulley. The blower pulley will not go thru the factory pulley because the the outermost groove is to small in dia. called weiand 3 times have no got anywhere they said try a aluminum, so i got a march 3 groove, matches the factory pretty close and still will not work, transdapt makes one also and is a little bigger buy don't want to buy another and still won't work...just wondering if anybody else ran into this,,,if I had part # of on that I knew would work I have no problem getting that,,,just hate to get another pricey paper weight...thanks Rob

I have the tech sheet with Weiand part numbers for 6 and 7 inch bottom pulleys. Which one are you looking for? The bottom one on my motor is 7" aluminum from Merc. Try the Bam Marine site for the Merc part if all else fails.

My GenV 525sc has an aluminum lower blower pulley that is a 10 rib serpentine. The steel pulley for the V belts is a Merc #52181 @$64.10 (From BAM Marine website). Might be the ticket for you-guessing because I dont know what other pulleys are on the motor.

You will have to get the diameter of the ribbed pulley turned down(the part that doesn't fit into the 3 groove pulley).Done it heaps of times. It doesn't need much off.
