Default oil temp relay?

Neither of my oil temp gauges work. Didn't work last year when I bought the boat but I never looked into it because the needles were stuck and the gauges were old. Just replaced gauges and senders, still no action. I need to check power to gauges and to sender but there is a relay on the sender wire bolted to the tranny. Is it common for these to go bad? If so are they marine-specific or pretty generic? When I get a minute I'll run in there with a test light and see what's going on, but I'd rather go in with relays in hand if this is a likely solution. Thanks.

Nevermind, figured it out. Wasn't the relays. Thanks.
