Default Engine oil / trans cooler????????/

I am running twin small blocks. About ready to increase engine outputs 40 to 50%. The engines have never had oil coolers. The transmissions do but they are hooked up after the water goes through the engine. Thinking it would be better if they were plumbed in before going through the engine. The other thing these are powerguide direct drive trasissions built to handle 1200 to 1500 HP at least in a car. The boat has 1 1/4" hose coming out of the sea pump. Have looked at a lot of tandum or piggy back coollers. Some say there good for engine oil and trans or power steering coolers. Figure thats for a forward/ reverse marine trans and might not be enough for the powerglides. Any sugestions????

Do it you won't be sorry....both are perfect for your engine. Doubling HP is a big jump up for the current set-up.

Default

Ihave looked at those and am cocerened that the end used for the trans or steering isnt very long. Current trans cooler is close to the length of the engine side of the cooler. The current trans cooler is plumed in after the engine not before. As stated this is a powerglide trans not a deeticated marine design forward / reversing unit. has 2 speeds forward and one in reeverse.
