Default comp lifters

Has anyone used or had problems with comp liftters(854-16),i have a set with 18 hrs on them and one is loud as hell,changing them out to morels this week.

A friend had several of the comp rockers break. Comp cams replaced the set . Maybe a bad batch?

take a good look at the cam...lots of failures related to oil now

Zinc additive ... even if you run hyd rollers ... heard storys of mechanical fuel pump push rod lobe failures ... cam companys had some bad core stock.

I like to run oil with alot of zinc in it such as Valvoline VR1

If you're buying Morels make sure they're the new one- they have a svere-duty version now available. Bob Madara (rmbuilder) or Dean Gellner (mrhorsepower1) can hook you up.

On oils, you aren't going to do much better than Mobil 1 V-twin. The EPA has regulated all the bad-for-you but good-for-the-engine out of automotive oils, but they haven't hit the specialty oils- yet.

Good to me for close to 20 years now, real close to some of the synthetics in additive package.
