Be absolutely sure you have no leaks first. Then do lots of turns full lock from left to right with motor running. Make sure you have proper amount of fluid in pump. Do this for a while and the air should work its way out.

if you cant get it bled ....loosen one of the hoses to the ram ...Also you can use a drill motor with an allen wrench to turn the pump over without running the motor ... As Smitty said turn the wheel locked one way and run the pump ...then turn the wheel to the opposite lock and run the pump again ...If you have alot of air you will need to keep checking fluid level ....m

Air In Rams
You Will Need To Bleed The Rams At The Hose Ends On The System. The Old Turn Lock To Lock Will Not Work . This Is A Closed Loop System. The Air Will Not Work Its Way Out. To Do This Turn All The Way Right. Then Crack Open The Left Turn Line. Then Bleed Untill No Air Comes Out. Then Repeat The Other Side The Same Way. This Will Remove The Air.
Have Someone Watch The Oil Level In The Pump So You Do Not Suck In Air.

Hyd System
Yes Its The Same. The System Is A Closed Loop System. This Means That The Oil Does Not Flow Thru The Ram. The Piston In The Ram Does Not Alow This. So Any Air In The Ram Stays In The Ram.
That Is Why You Do The Turn And Bleed.

so does the inside the transom plumbing need to be bled or does the recirculation take care of that?
Theoretically, once the rams are bled, if not reopened, they should stay good to go??
