Default 871 questions

Anyone running double strip teflon, white and black, on their boat? I've got an 871 mooneyham that was rebuilt by littlefield. It's been sitting on a shelf for a couple years and I was thinking about finally doin something with it. Just wasn't sure if it's going to create too much heat in a marine app.
Thanks guys..

A. run it rich!
B. If you are running stock GM heads
Make sure you have the best valves, (especially the exhaust). and if the valves have much time on them, replace them regardless of condition.
C. run it rich

I was running 2 teflon strip B&M 174 (baby blowers) for about 100 hrs before I sold the boat. No issues whatsoever.

Typically creates so much heat that it fails. Be careful if your gonna run it. Usually need to open up rotor clearance.

Just before I " checked out" for a while, I had just put together my 8-71/carbs/intercooler/linkage on the new Maschmeier 509cid. Had jets and a few sets of pulleys .
I was getting it ready to put into the boat when I realized I now have a clearance issue. I had just bought a new ProRam scoop to build a new hatch. After realizing just how tall this monster is, I'm wishing I would have looked closer into the Whipple.

Ya, they're tough to beat and would normally be my first choice. I've just had this blower kickin around forever with carbs, linkage, and intake but no pulleys. I traded it for some volvo diesel parts but now I don't know what to do with it. Maybe I'll stuff it on a small block and race DD
