Is the stock mercruiser steering pump the same pressure as a stock GM steering pump. Reason is I'm thinking of running a late model small alum. pump off of a GM .Reason is it's small and looks a lot cleaner. Thanks JOHN

I don't think there will much diff, but you can change the pressure easily by swaping out the reg valve and spring from the big nut where the pressure hose attaches..no big deal to switch...Rob

I did same as both previous replies and didn't notice any difference.
