Default Cam and Lifters

I need to know what cam and lifters to order. I am putting a carded 500 back together should i use Crane #168741 cam with the 112 lobe Sep with the Crane #13532-16 hydraulic roller lifters. Or should i use the Crane #168741 with a 114 lobe Sep and i am not sure what lifters or the part number for the cam since it is a special grind but was told the 114 was in the 525.

I really need to get this stuff ordered by monday. So if someone could help me out and tell me what to get and were to get would be great thanks.

The lifters would be the same. I would use the 525efi cam on the 114. It will have a little better idle. Either cam should be fine though and make pretty much the same hp.

It wouldn't hurt to PM rmbuilder. He has many satisfied customers on OSO.

Stick with the 741 on 112. Will not reverse with decent exhaust, The 114 is lazy in the mid range. In a 502, the 741 will need a little more compression to work well. The 500efi cam will work better with 8.75CR

if you have good exhaust use 741. it will make a little more cylinder pressure on the 112 and give you more stronger mid. the 114 will have a smoother idle. both cams are so close. just depends on what you want smoother idle or rougher idle with a little more mid.

I have emi exhaust with the silent choice riser. I am not sure if the short risers i have will work. Thanks for the help you guys. As you can probably tell i do not know a whole lot about motors so any help is good. Really all i want to do is put the motor back together the best possible way. I do need a new cam and lifters so i thought i had read somewhere that you might as well put the 525 cam in cause the 500 cam was weak.
