Default 502 cylinder heads torque specs

Hi,
I have a 98 gen6 502 , the manual claims the head bolts should be torqued to 92 lbs. Does that sound right. Thanks

89 on the Short bolts and 92 on the long ......use the Sequence in the book and work thru 3 rotations ...ie 30lbs ,59lbs .. then 89/92 ....coat the bolts with Perfect seal ... when you run the motor the first time get it good and hot ...shut it down ..let it cool and retorque .... As stated by kennyo depends on brand of bolts too ...they should be new ...ARP has specs on their website ..if you use their lube or reg oil ... different torque ... m

Ditto.......it depends on the bolts and lube used.

Retorqing procedure depends on the head gaskets used.
