Default Merc code reader needed

Is there a aftermarket reader for merc mefi 1,2,& 3 or do I need to buy a merc tool? does anyone now where to get one?

Contact Rinda Technologies. They make the Merc. scan tools.

There's one on Ebay right now for $100.00 . I was going to get it, but opted to go with the DiaCom software instead.

The one on ebay does not have all the conections for what you are wanting to do. You can have it upgraded though.

DiaCom is by Rinda Tec. . It's a PC software version of the scan tool, but offers more detail. I'm in the Bahamas and there is no import duty on software- I would have to pay 65% duty on the scan tool. I think for basic stuff the scan tool would be better, because you don't have to worry about having your laptop out in the boat.
