I 100% agree! I could maybe see the use of this oil in extreme hp engines but 15w50 offers plenty of protection for my engine.

The 15 + 20 / 50 is regular use oil ,,not for tricked out high RPM engines !!!
i'm no oil expert, but from what I know, the only advantage a 0-xx weight oil has is in a VERY slight hp gain. actual durability and life of the oil will always be better in the higher weight oil. That's why we run them. Even with the 15w50, I find I need to change every 25 hrs or so. I can't imagine how often I'd have to change the 0-xx. And all for half a hp or so???

Or am I missing something?

I would say 6000 + RPM , and i change it after every race ( 1 + hour or so )

Tricked out engine is like a 12:1 compression that turns 7500+ RPM !!! N/A !!!

At least thats what i have been told !?

Also the Penzoil Racing 25 W -50 is a very good oil !!!

Valvoline Racing 20 W-50 is good too ,both are non synthetic which i think is what u need on a roller cam top end ,,because the synthetic is too slick the rollers actually slide instead of rolling !!

With the added main and rod clearance that marine engines run, a 0w30 would be the worst thing you could do for engine longivity. You need a heavier oil to "fill" the extra clearance.
If you ran tighter clearances, a 0w30 might work.

Keep the 0w30 in your car, in Minnesota in January.

As far as durability goes, the 0w30 would last the 25 or so hours but if the is any viscosity breakdown, you will have something less than a 30 at 210F.

The durability relates to the base stock of the fluid.

Mobil 1 is a PAO and they are pretty stout.

Better let the Cup guys know that they are really exceeding the limits of their oil, or the Indy guys.

The synthetics are no more slippery than petroleum oil.

Harley tried to say the reason cam bearings were going bad is because people were using synthetic oils and the rollers were sliding, causing flat spots and taking out the bearing.

IF THE ROLLER IS SLIDING, IT IS SLIDING ON A FILM OF OIL!!

How will it wear?

Notice how when HD came out with a synthetic the reason went away.
