Octane boost is absolutely necessary if the gas dock doesn't have premium. I always carry some. The race fuel is a good idea, however if the dock doesn't have premium then it's unlikely they will have race fuel.

ACES is not well known but is the best Ive tried at raising octane and takes a very little and thats convenant when transporting. call Brian at ACES or post a thread on sream and fly very popular over their
