Default Merc 900 SC - What can we do to make 1000hp?

I was told more boost, higher octane, retard the timing and different jetting. Can anyone elaborate on this? Also what is the end of the powerband on these motors? Someone told me 6000rpm another said 6250rpm.

2001 42' Outterlimits
900 SC Mercruiser engines
#6 dry sump drives
7lbs of boost at 6100rpm

Thanks
Gary
