Default Lighting headers and hot spot

I just got everything togeather on my 330hp 454 and ready to run it today. I put on a set of lighting headers, intake manifold raw water pump, cir water pump, thermostat housing with a new 140 dgree thermostat. Anyway I ran the boat for about 20 mins at idle, everything looks good. Great water flow, temp came up to 140 degrees and mantained 140 degress on the gauge. At idle all the primary tubes on the headers are luke warm..allmost cool to the touch, so I brought the rpm's up to about 2K and held it there for about 1 min and noticed that cyl #3 primary tube was hot to the touch on the inner bend of the tube as it came upwards. Is this kinda normal for running it on a garden hose (maybe not enought volume to feed the coolant system), maybe that part of the tube is not getting enought water around it, anybody else have this issue?
Thanks
Erik

Mine run hotter on the hose to.
Check it when you get it in the water, I think you should be fine.

Agree with above. Mine will stay normal at idle, but with a raised idle it goes up quick.

Gotcha guys. I ran it for a short time at 2K and once I felt the hot spot in the header tube I brought it back to idle. Hopefully if it dosnt rain this weekend I'll take it out for the first time this year.
