Default twin engines, same concern

Any ideas?, I am helping a freind try to diag. a problem with a no-performance boat (cruiser). both motors will not run under 2,000 rpm, miss and are lazy, happened at the same time, what links them together that could effect both?

What do you mean it was fine last week when you got fuel? Was it running good last week before fueling? Any other fuel filters in line that could be clogged? Electric or mech fuel pumps? Not many things in common with both engines other that a fuel issue. I doubt the syncro gauge is the problem? Just my 2 ct's but I go with the fuel.

Fuel doesn't just have to have water in it to be bad. Could be old fuel as well. Very low octane and flashpoint. The lighter aromatics are the first to go.
