Hey guys, I'ts been a long winter. I can't remember if your incoming hose goes on the top inlet/outlet or the bottom. I have the raw water pump that 90's in towards the motor instead of running straight back. I have it on the top right now, but I wanted to check before I started it.

Iwould try to see if it is indicated on the pump housing near hose nippels. If you can't get in there take a small mirror and shine a light on it.
I'll bet it is marked.

Dont believe anyone that tells you its either the top or bottom. The pump can be rotated on its bracket. It will be marked on the back inlet /outlet for either standard or reverse rotation.

Been workin this problem my self tonight. Turns out standard is left hand (lh) rotation. LH out goes to oil cooler, RH out is intake. Hope you have better luck than I am having on this crappy job.
