the amsoil true believer guys like amsoil. the royal purples and other specialy brands, in my opinion, are just marketing. for me in about a million miles of racing in every environment imagineable in motors and gearboxes of every description, i have never found a better lubricant than the mobil 1 full synthetics. there was a company in california that made a product called NEO synthetic oil which was absolutely spectacular but 10 times the cost plus we had to ship it from ca. and t was worth it for war emergency sort of applications but for everything else from winston cup to formula atlantic to imsa GTP, off the shelf mobil 1 was the best by far.

the neo stuff was amazing. they made a 0 wt gear oil that was thinner than water and looked like lime coolaide... it had absolutely zero drag and made a repeatable and measureable improvement on the stop watch back to back every time... and the gear boxes would come apart at a 1000 miles and look absolutely brand new.

Lots of threads on this, do some searches, it'll kill a few hours!

General opinion leans toward Mobil1 and Amsoil.

I run Mobil 1. It's great, semi cheap, and readily available.
Can't beat the 5 qt jugs of 15w50 at Walmart for $22 to $24 bucks.

Take your pick:

Amsoil RD50 15W-50 Racing synthetic oil

Amsoil ARO 20W-50 Syn Oil

Amsoil MCV 20W-50 Syn Motorcycle Oil

Amsoil AME 15W-40 Syn Marine Oil

All high in ZDDP...choices..choices...I think I would go with ARO in a Big Block Marine Application....unless racing and then use RD50. AME for cooler climates.

Amsoil Ea oil filter

You can't miss with any of these!
