Default BBC starter bolt pattern?

Is there a starter that uses the side by side bolt pattern for the bbc in marine application. ? My inside threads are messed up on the staggered bolt hole.

Any of the mini high torque gear reduction starters use a side by side pattern.

I just bought the CVR starter to replace mine. It has side by side bolts and will fit any Mk IV to Gen VI block aparently. I thought I had to ge tthe staggard one but I didn't.

If your going to use a side by side starter make sure you hook up the bracket to the end of the starter motor that attachs to the block..that style starter is not as stable as the staggared one.

i have 1 time, the starter rocked and broke the outter bolt hole on the block..and thats how i figured out why they had the tab on the rear of the starter.
