Question Billet Top Cap for Bravo

Any thoughts on a billet top cap with built in shower for a right hand Bravo drive over 700 hp. $300 sounds like pretty cheap insurance but will it do anything or is the money best spent elsewhere. It does come with the bearing race, and bearing I believe, and is a 20 minute job from what I've been told.
Thanks in Advance,
Dave

Yes it is and easy install but expensive too. I have a Simerek Add on drive shower (150.00 +-). It works fine as far as I can tell. With 700 HP you will need more than a top cooling cap though.

This is a repeat of another post I just sent:

Why not try or look at an Innovative Marine drive shower?http://www.innovativemarine.net/
I put them on my cat...the fresh water --- throught -- the hull type..nothing but ice cold water from start-up to shut down
If you need pics of mine let me know

I just made a web page with some pics of the drive installation http://jlbco.hypermart.net/driveshower.htm

This is by no means an endorsement. It's just that I like the concept

The billet cap will help and not let the upper bearing move as much. It is more important on a left hand drive. If you expect to have your drive last a fair amount of time with700hp. you'll need additional modifications, an after market drive , or one of the new mercury drives.Cooling the drive is a must.
