For something different go to falconerengines.com and check it out. Based on small block, available up to 641 cubic inches and uses off the shelf small block bearings, valves, rockers, rods, etc. They weigh 523 lbs. are about 8 inches longer than a small block and will make 1100 hp N.A. on race gas. They are designed to be very reliable and can be set up for forced induction also if more power is needed! Pricing starts at $65,000 complete!

I dont know if anyone remembers the triggfrie's (sorcerer) Skater. It had 700 + ci motors in it with swedish made blowers. It was a nightmare on motors they were like 2100 hp each but didnt live but for a days. Last I had heard they had major reversion issues with large cubes as well thats why we dont see them as much as on the strip.

I always wondered about those motors. They sure had a ton of high tech monitoring. I am surprised they couldn't get a handle on reversion. I would have guessed valve train issues with tall decks.
Are they still in business?

because it isn't much more for the parts then building a 598'' bbc,and i can run 2 1250 holley carbs[but i'd like to learn how to tune a efi on a large gas engine,ive allready fuel mapped a duramax diesel-using EFI LIVE],and build a 10.5-1 motor,not to build it on the edge [no superchargers,turbos or nos] and maybe get 150-250 hrs run time ,and most of all i haven't seen this done before
I like your thoughts on what your trying to do.
On the other hand what is your fear of turbo's ?
I attached a few pictures of one of Tom Earhart's engines.
This one had 10 years on the bottom end before a freshen and the valve train is gone through every 250 to 275 hrs.
Just for chep insurance.
I would hardly call that type of life span on the Edge.
You have boost at less than 2000 RPM's so there is no Turbo lag.
Anyways just a few thoughts for your research.
