We are using a crane 741 cam and are shooting for 600hp by 5200. If you want to spin the motor harder, you could try the 751.

I run a custom grind solid roller.
I don't have the cam card with me , so I'm going by memory.
.715 lift , 258/264 @ .050 on a 112 c/l that is with a 1:7 rocker arm , but I use a 1:6 arm so it is a little easier on valvetrain.
We put it in 4 degrees advanced.
I ran this cam in a 502 with some iron oval port Merlins , Brodix intake, 1050 dominator and with 8.5:1 CR the motor made 625hp @ 5800 , on Tyler Crocketts dyno.
I now have all this in a 540 and we bumped the CR up a point so I would assume that it is making around 675hp. I didn't get a chance to dyno this one . It makes enough to push my tank to 80mph !

Jut put the crane 741 in mine. Have not got jetting right yet so have not gotten to hang it out yet. Idles at 800 out of gear, in gear with 1.36 bravo & 30" prop @ 600. Vacumm out of gear 15" in gear at idle 8-10" At this time I will not go to the 751 even thou I like the 114 lobe separation better.

Erson Cams specs for the next motor I will be building. It will be a 540 with 12.5 to 13:1 compression. The heads are fully ported 325 pro 1's and a stage 5 1050 Nickerson. Note: This set up will be for large HP. The driveability at low rpm's isn't expected to be very great.
cam specs @ .050" lift
Int dur 278, lift .753"
Ex dur 286, lift .731"
114 degree lobe sep.
Hopefully this combo will result in at least 750 HP at 6000 to 6500 rpm. This motor is a work in progress and will probably take a year or two. It will be for my next boat.
