502 MAG Mercruiser.
I just got my 2001 Velocity 502mag in the lake today. Just bought it. The engine starts fine first thing. Then I ran about 30 minutes and stopped to eat. When I came back it took 30 or so trys to start.Would run about 1 or 2 seconds then quit. Just barely start. Then started and ran fine. Stopped and went out in a friends boat for about an hour. And same thing only was on the last turn of the battery when it started. Then ran fine. Got back to my dock. Shut it off for about 5 minutes and started and it hit first try. Any ideas ???:

Sounds like carb/efi
502 Mag , im guessing it has a carb . When it gets hot and wont fire , look to see if the choke is open all the way. Whats it idle at? Possible temp sensor if it has one. Efi , buy the code reader and do the test.
