My guess is it would help your hole shot and hurt top end,,, I tried it on my 272 and it hated it,,, no bow lift,,,, and her butt walked all over the place.

Try a Mercury Revolution. Has added a few MPH on some hulls.

Henry,

I had a 2001 Outlaw with a 454 MPI turing a 23P Mirage. With gear, 2 people and 1/2 tank, I was able to get around 69 on GPS. I would think with the extra HP of the 496 HO you should be clipping 70.

Anyway, I'd go for a 24P B1 or maybe a 25 Mirage.

Henry, I have no personal experience with that set up. I can tell you that the Rev 4 will pull 300 RPM less than the same pitch in a Mirage. In a couple of the magazine tests, the Rev was almost as fast as a labbed Bravo 1. In my experience the Bravo 1 prop has too much blade area for a boat that size. The Rev seems to be faster. Sonicdude might be right on the money with the 25 Mirage, it will drop you 400 RPM or so, but probably pick up a mile or two. My bet would be the 23 Rev or the 25 Mirage. then lab finish the one that you like. Bottom line is you need to experiment.

Mbam.
What is the difference between the Rev and the B1 ? Does one had more bow lift than the other ?
I currently run a labbed B1 and am happy with it but if a couple of mph is to be gained I'm all ears !

Cool

Why not just lab the prop you have. You will be over 70 mph.

I tried a 23" Rev 4 on my 24 Outlaw. WAY TOO MUCH stern lift. More trim did not help and couldn't get enough bow lift. Slowed the boat down 4mph. Get a 25 Mirage plus. Run it stock and see where the rpms are at for a base line, then send it to get labbed. Labbing your 23 is probably not an option unless you have them change the pitch also as you're 100-150 rpms away from the rev limiter.

Also, if you have any mufflers changing to straight tips may give you a 100rpms.
