But I have got to wonder if there is some type of difference between the two ? My experience with Fel Pro is that if it is the same exact part, the price is the same or very close, no matter if it is purchased witha Marine PN or a "standard" part number or performance ?

the felpro told me that they do not make them...they buy from the people who make the gasket for GM they just repackage and resell to whatever division hence the part # change !!! but they are all the same gasket..I compaired mine to a GM one even had the same # stamped on it...

That's correct. Same part. Way different price.
That's why I just use the OS34407R.
