motors or drives ?
I have a 292 formula with 6.2s ,when I hit full throttle as a take off.I notice the port motor will be about 4 to 5 rpm higher then the oath motor.I have dropped top end speed about 2 mph. I guess my question is this something to be looked at in motor department(injector or full pressure) or is this a drive problem to look at.It will finally catch up to be inseek but takes a few seconds to do so.

Prop dinged? Doubt its drive,You did mean 4-5 hundred right?
I would probably run a compression check first but an 07 should still be under warrenty. If you are the second owner I think you can transfer the Formula gaurd.

292's cavitate or bow stand so bad that you need to hammer them up on plane. Maybe the clutch cone is slipping in the one drive (the higher rpm one). Check the drive lube to see if it has a burnt smell or if the magnet has sludge on it. Just another thought, look to see if you have an anoide missing or chewd up under the cav plate causing the prop to cavitate. Good luck and let us know what you find.

Yeah you do need to stand on the throttles with them but they are small blocks so easier on drives.I did not think of that, the higher rpm side could be the problem. You could be right.

Sorry guys for no response to all your great advise and suggestions. My dad fell and broke his hip and had surgery.I am still concerned of this rpm change. And the 2 mph I lost.I am going to check drive fluid just as you suggested. That seems to be a great starting point and to change them anyway. Thanks much,Props are in great shape with little to no burs on them.
