Yep...but it depends on your winters and storage...I'm in Wisconsin and it gets pretty friggin' cold here and I used to take them out...but then I put a charger in the boat which monitors &" MAINTAINS" the batteries during storage...so they never loose their charge and anytime they start to fall short, the charger kicks in with a small maintenance charge. So now, i never take them out.

I have never taken my batteries out of any boat I have owned for winter storage. Never had a problem in the Spring. As long as you don't hav eany slow drains, they will be fine. You can also just disconnect the battery cables to prevent the slow draws. If they get real low on charge, they will freeze and then they are no good anymore.

I pull my stereo battery out and keep a trickle charger on. I have always just disconnected the main 2 batteries and left in boat. If I don't have a built in charger in the boat, any brand that you would recommend to charge 2 batteries that I could just temporarily put in boat for the off season? Thanks.
