188 heads on gen IV block
I got a nice set of 188 rectangle port heads and want to put them on my 1990 gen IV block. I heard I just need to use the Fel-pro 1071 head gaskets. Will this combo work?

Personally I would go with the 17046.
You kind of sound like using those heads with that block would need that particular gasket. Those heads were made for the Mark lV block.

That will work however it is not a marine head gasket. You may be more interested in the 17049 or the 17046.

Thank you picklenjim! I was searching the forum for engine/head configurations and got confused! All the gen IV, V, VI stuff and then add heads to the mix, some fit some don't, etc! Whats the difference between the 17049 or 17046? Summits website does not really tell any difference? Thanks again!
