I thought "special" engine builders could easily get 700 hp even out of 454's with Edelbrock heads , if not I heard they just raise the correction factor!!! I guess "he" went the other direction-big mongo heads!!! Bob, maybe you could make a cam install video for the builders that get confused on which way to install roller lifters, Smitty

A few years ago a guy surfaced on here claiming to make ridiculous hp from common combinations that used the same old garden variety parts. This self proclaimed engine builder created a fancy website and became a advertiser on here, he then posted dyno sheets with inflated numbers (correction factors over 20% in mid 60 degree weather). He then proceeded to defraud several members of OSO by building them engines that had MAJOR flaws and upon inspection in one instance the pair of motors he built were 10 mph SLOWER then before, failed at 10 or so hours, had several lifter sets in backwards to where the tie bars were bound up and the wheels were eating into the cam on a angle, the pistons that were SUPPOSED to be new were the original ones, the deception goes on and on. It got to the point of involvement of law enforcement and this self proclaimed engine builder relented and refunded some of the money but even then nowhere close to the actual defrauded amount or lost boating, destroyed parts, etc, etc, Smitty
