454 mag mpi rebuilds or pro chargers?
I have a pair of 1997 454 mag mpi's in my 312 Fastech low hrs about 215. What I would like to do is stroke them, Cam and maybe heads.. I had some Canfield heads on another boat with 502's and she thumped. I already have up graged exhaust and breathers.
I know I will need the ECM recalibrated to what ever I do. Does anyone know if the existing fuel injectors will be ok?
Has anyone done this and have ideas.
Or since I have low hrs. would it be cheaper to add pro-chargers?

If you stay NA, the stock intake will be a limiting factor. I would post what you are looking for in terms of a MPH increase and what your budget is. That will help in determining the best route to take.

I dont think you will gain much out of them with keeping the factory MPI system. You can stroke them, add a better cam, roller rockers, run a carb setup, and get about 550HP or so out of them.
Or go forced induction.

It really all depends on the power you are after. As mentioned, the stock intake will only work well with a Procharger. The stock injectors are good to about 600 hp, but you won't make that N/A.
If you want to stay N/A, then switch out the intake for something like the setup from Holley. That intake with some heads and canshaft will make some good power.(approx. 550 hp).
You may also want to look for a good used side mount Whipple. I have ton quite a few of these and they work great.
Which ever route you take, you will need to make sure the fuel system is up to the task. That means a new pickup in the tank, fuel lines, larger fuel filter head, etc.
Here are a few shots of the Holley setup on a couple of different engines in case you haven't seen it.

Procharger is going to be the most inexpensive and easiest way to add real Hp. Procharger + ECU recalibration would likely net you near 500hp without upgrading your fuel system much, and add later possibilities of more HP with heads/cam, etc. You will be under $5k per motor (should be around $4k). Heads, cam, time, intake, carb, fuel system upgrade would likely net more Hp, but it will cost $7K + and be a LOT more work (and will also require more tuning, and maintenance, IMO).

pro chargers may be the way
I'm running 73 mph now with the 454 mag mpi's at about 5200rpms on labbed bravo 1 30's...My goal is 80 but don;t want to scatter the motors either..I know tuff to have both.
The picks I have seen from others are all of fuel injected (throtle bodies) mine is an MPI with the plenum.
Who makes the most relable super-chargers??? thoghts????

If you want to stay NA with the MPI fuel sytem, you will need to go to about 540 C.I. It will take a good amount of work and money. We have done numerous ones over the years, and they make a little over 600 HP, makes lots of torque at a low RPM & it will also look stock. Give me a call if you have any questions.
And if you got your hands on a 500 EFI, we convert those to make over 675 HP with 735 ft lbs of Torque.
