Default Water temp on a Promax 300

Hi!

I have a Promax 300 1999 model, and the engine runs cold in the spring. At idle the temp is fine (130F +), but at 4.000 rpms the temp drops to less than 120F. Temp should be beteween 120F - 160F. Ideal temp is 140F at 4.000. Thermostats open at 142F.

The problem is too much cold water running through the engine too fast. I closed the two upper waterintakes on my Torque Master lower unit, and the watertemp rose somewhat.

I made a adjustable poppet valve, making the stream of water less and pressure higher. To get the temp above 120F, the pressure at 4.000 rpms is 18 psi and wot 27 psi. At idle the pressure is normal - 6 psi. According to the owners manual pressure should be above 10 psi at 4.000 and not less than 15 psi at wot.

Have anyone of you experienced the same with your Promax 300's in the spring? Seatemp just now is approx. 6 degrees celcius. Any other idea to solve this problem?

Cheers, Toffen - Norway
