Default Quick drain air fitting question

I recently changed my impeller and when I was trying to get teh pump back in place, one of the air fittings broke off. The threaded metal fitting is still intact and in the pump, but just the plastic 90 fitting cracked off. Unfortunatly, I didnt notice until the pump was back on and I was trying to connect the air hoses.
I really dont want to take the pump out again this year just for that. Do i have to replace this if I dont plan on using the quick drain system? I havnt even ran the boat after the impeller change cause Im not sure it the pump will suck air through the fitting.

TIA
