Cylinder bore job
What is a ruff idea on the cost of doing a cylinder bore job say .040.. at a machine shop + installation of wrist pins into new pistons

Realistically you should figure on about $600 to do the block properly. That would include removing the cam bearings and all the plugs, cleaning the block, boring and honing it with torque plates, cleaning it again for assembly and installing new cam bearings and brass freeze plugs. That is what my prices are, they do vary from area to area. Swapping the pistons would be $100 which includes cleaning the rods.

I appreciate it guys, a guy in ft.lauderdale sent me a bill for 750 but he did do a little aluminum welding on my SM manifold and replaced cam bairing,, he also hit me with about 750 for [parts including .040 mahle cast pistons and rings, gasket set , and main bairing
