Do these filters match the requirements for the Merc remote mount oil filter. Specifically the AC Delco part. I was wondering if there is any difference with the bypass valve in the filter. Does the Merc filter have a different valve pressure than those listed? I would hate to have the bypass kick off and not filter the oil.

Like 29Outlaw I use the HP4. I could only find HP4 and HP6 in Eddie, Teague and Rex catalogs, and frams site didnt give any info. Do you know if the HP5 is better or do you have any info on it. Thanks Mark

Mark,

Last oil change I went into the store intending to buy 2 HP4 racing filters. I grabbed what I though were 2 HP4’s but when I got home, I discovered that one of them was an HP5. The HP5 would not fit. They are totally different. As far as buying them from a catalog – no need to. I get them from Trak Auto in Prince Fredrick.

Mark,

What boat are you in this year? We may be sucking Bobby's wake if he buys the 550hp Rieter-Baja. Do you know the guy in the wicked, red Hydrostream that runs 100+

Hey thanks John. I looked in the catalogs bc i figued they would have some decription but they didnt, and with Teague not listing them i kinda wondered.

I too bought them at Trak, but i only had to spend half the amount of you. Mr. double trouble but right now i am not spending anything so maybe i should be quiet.

Also Pat uses HP4 in everything he owns and works on so i think we are safe. Oh he pulled the motor and trucked it up to, hummmmm Landover i believe to get a dyno pull. It pulled just over 550, not bad.
