It all depends on the boat. I've heard some lost as much as 3 mph, some no change.
If your running 130 and you lose 3 mph,it's not the end of the world. But break your back to get to 90, and lose 3 mph, that sucks!

Thanks Eddie. What would you think the target water pressure should be?
I thought about just swishing to an 8 plate cooler without thermostAt, but I'd be mad at myself if it still was marginal so I figured I'd just bite the bullet and do the 13 plate and t stat
What would you do?

I would shoot for about 18 or so psi at wot.
If you do the plate cooler, def. go with the 13 plate and a thermostat. I think the 8 plate would be borderline for that power....especially if the water pressure is on the low side.
I would still try it first with the lower holes plugged and a lead in ground in the lower holes.

I have a buddy with a 31 sonic that runs in the 90's, with similar issues. His drives do not have LWP's.
I also think he told me if he doesn't trim the drives out as much, the temps stay inline. Makes me believe he is suckin some air as the drive pickups are at or above the waterline at that point.
