Help with shifter problems !
I have a 22 Donzi Classic, Blackhawk/502 setup. Here is the problem: Over the past few weeks it has been getting harder and harder to put the boat into gear, either forward or reverse. I have the stock quicksilver throttle/shifter. I can push the shifter forward and I have to move it back and forth many times to finally engage the transmission. The same holds true when I put it in reverse. Today, I couldn't get it into gear at all. This problem has gotten progressively worse over the past three weeks or so. Can anybody help?

Greg, that could be a drive problem, or maybe just the cable going down through the gimbal. Best to pull the drive and take a look.

greg welcome to the board.....i would check the throttle connections at the carb(or EFI). there are adjustment nuts there to adjust the throw to the outdrive. mine on my mpi would work there way loose over a period of time and cause some binding in the shifter. locktight took care of the prob
