Gil Manifold Users,,,, Help!!
I bought a set og used gils that came with no instructions. Im having probs figuring out the brakets included. There is 3 similar brackets made out of 1 inch flat iron with bend and hole at ea end and with side gussets. 1 of these has a flange with a hole welded midway . There is 1 longer bracket made from the same material but with no side gussets. I also have 2 7 inch x 5 inck bracket that appear to be for the shifter linkage. I asune the other brackets are for the oil filter , but I figure out how to attach it.
All hints and help will be much appreciated. sj

I have Gil Wet Offshore manifolds and pipes. I didn't have to use any of the brackets that they sent EXCEPT for the ones to attach the shifter and e.c.u. The stock oil filter bracket worked fine. I just had to shave off about 1/2" from the bottom to clear the manifolds. I also had to relocate the outdrive oil bottle to the transom.
You didn't say what year or type of motor you have. Mine is a '99 454 magnum. I hope this helps a little.

Thanks CM.. I fiddled untill things seemed right, Ma this was a much tuffer job than i figured on. My Y on the diverters for the S. choice were too long and had to be cut back 2 inches which worried the crap outta me [ cant uncut]. Im pretty happy with the results. The boat revs higher and pulls harder and quicker and i think i can go up a size in props im now over revving about 3-400 . Over all a 5 mph gain may occur. Thanks for all the help. sj

stevejohns...if you still have a problem let me know. I will take a picture of mine. I had to cut my Corsa's y-pipe also. I then had to buy a wedge to align the risers. Another $250.00.Sorry to hear you had installation problems.
