Default What Size Fuse for a 25 watt VHF radio

Can anyone tell me what size the fuse is for a standard 25 watt VHF marine radio? I blew the fuse on mine while transmitting. I pulled it and it was a 3 amp fuse. That seems abit small. Can someone check theirs for me. Thanks.

25W / 12V = 2.08 Amps 3A should be right unless there is a surge in the transmitter when transmitting. Or something is shorting out. Try a slow blow 3A I think it is a MDL-3.

Does it say the maximum wattage or amps on the radio on a sticker or something?

Thanks Ray,

No amperage sticker. I was looking for one. I did the wattage conversion too. 3 amps just seems light.
