Turbo 400 or B/W trans
I know that you can use a Turbo-400 trans with a v-drive, but has anyone ever tried using one with an outdrive setup? I am looking at the trannies infront of my TRS's and wondering why the hell not? 1st gear could be used for idling REAL slow with the revs up, but 2nd-3rd would work. You still have reverse and neutral. I dont think I'd gain any speed (still 1:1) but I should be able to get out of the hole a little quicker.
Also for all the Bravo users who are pushing the floors out of the gears you could remove the tranny from the Bravo and replace it with some heavy duty gears that dont have to compromise shifting for durability.
Does anyone know if you can remove the rear tail section of the T-400 and perhaps mate it to the plug in section of the B/W or MercTrans transmissions?

Try Gary at GT Marine in California, I believe he is related to Teague, hence GT marine. I had talked to him last year about using a 400 Turbo, I think the length was more the issue.
